This exam is an ultrasound of the neck arteries that supply the blood to the brain because your doctor heard a sound while listening to your neck. This exam will assess the movement of the blood through your arteries and the artery walls. We can see any narrowing of the artery, which could put you at risk for a stroke. This exam is quick (30 minutes), painless and requires no preparation.
